The desire for a lovely dress can pose a problem if your upper and lower halves are very different in size. An increasing number of brands are offering dresses to cater for small and large bust sizes. If your shoulders are broad or narrow (relative to one's torso), then it is a case of choosing the style of sleeves carefully. Batwing and butterfly sleeves are examples of styles that accommodate a range of shoulder widths without spoiling the looks.

If your hips present the main fitting problem, then you may have to stick with a set of matching separates, since these will give a smart look. If you have lovely large hips, then you might be able to find pleated dresses that fit alright.
