Thankfully, there is now a superb range of outer-wear up to at least size 32. An absolutely perfect fit is usually not required, as long as it is not too tight at any point on your figure. Fashion in coats changes fast, so it pays to choose the more classic, enduring styles.

The main issue to consider for larger figures, is the length. Generally, coats have to be longer than for a thin lady just to give the same apparent length when worn. The final choice depends on the whole outfit as well as your figure and the practical issues - staying warm and dry! A coat that is slightly nipped in at the waist area is a definite plus.
